NIC Flagship Event
This year. Neighbors Impacting Communities (N.I.C.), a non-profit organization led by President Joyce Hughes, has teamed up with the St. Louis Art Museum as host for our annual celebration for school-age children to participate in a multicultural affair entitled, “We The People” on Sunday, February 16, 2025. As with all SLAM and NIC events, this is a free event intended to be by children, for children and their families with a special focus for inclusion and diversity of all children. Performances will be in various parts of the museum between 1 and 4 p.m. - Highlighting STUDENT PERFORMANCES beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Farrell Auditorium.

NIC invites you to support and enjoy K-12 students as they perform during "We The People" multicultural celebration at St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park.

For safety and security reasons, parents/guardians are encouraged to attend with their child(ren), especially those ages 18 years and under.

Family Sunday—We the People: A Black History Month Celebration

Family Sunday activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme each time. This week’s event honors Black History Month with several performances by Neighbors Impacting Communities, a nonprofit organization, celebrating youth in the arts and the diversity of all children in the metro–St. Louis area.
Schedule:
1–4 pm, Sculpture Hall - Enjoy hands-on art activities and special interactive components featuring two demonstrating artists.
1–1:30 pm, Grigg Gallery - Join Kenya Ajanaku and Neighbors Impacting Communities for an immersive storytelling experience.
2:30–3:15 pm, The Farrell Auditorium / NIC STUDENT PERFORMANCES
Witness an amazing display of culture hosed by Neighbors Impacting Communities with performers from the Inner Ear Orchestra and Kaleidoscope Choir of Buder Elementary School.2:30–3 pm, Sculpture Hall - Join us for a tour of related artwork found in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection. Space is limited, and sign-up is required. Sign-up begins at 1 pm in Sculpture Hall. The Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm from the welcome desk.
